In my Kitchen :: Blog Hop

"Each day I find myself snapping a picture or two in the kitchen - a pile of ingredients, a table waiting for us to gather around, a sink full of soapy dishes, a cup of tea, dinner as it comes out of the oven - simple, everyday moments in the kitchen. These photos serve as a reminder of days gone by and as encouragement to carry on in this busy kitchen of ours when inspiration is lacking."              - Heather from beauty that moves

morning cup, kimchi for one, daily school lunch dilemmas (any ideas?) spring fiddleheads (lots, I need to look into preserving these, cleaning them was half the battle)

Loving the look of those fiddleheads. They are out here in Eastern Canada already, too..

I think I have only seen fiddleheads once. I had no idea what they were at first!

I had to do a google search when I read Faye's comments about the fiddleheads. What an amazing name. I had no idea what they were. We have a massive fern growing in our front garden...I wonder if all ferns are edible. I love foraging.

I don't think I've already seen someone actually prepare fiddleheads. Looks really fresh and tasty though!

I love the lunch box line up. That is a daily routine in my home also.

I very clearly remember my parents getting excited about fiddle heads, I didn't like them as a kid but I (mostly) like them now. We just fry them in some butter and garlic, a food that's best kept simple I think.

Thanks for the link for canning them :)

Oh wow... fiddle heads. They looks so pretty. And the lunches... cute too. I don't have any ideas though... glad we homeschool! I don't know if I could come up with so many ideas.
